This is starting to feel like an old SCSF routine, so I'll bring back the acronyms.  The boy and I hit the outgoing 7ft high tide this morning and found the perch biting well.  The shore break made the water a bit stained but it was clear green about 15-20ft out.  Red flake paddle tails were the popular bait and most fish were 10-12 inches.  Some were starting to show color for pre-spawn.  Hopefully the water temps drop next week with the rain storm and the week after has a good bite.

10-12 inch perch are friggin nice!  It's been a while since I've been on them at that size.  One thing is for certain, the swell will be up, and the rain will be falling this week.  Probably make some new beach structure and hopefully get the bite to keep picking up.

Bravo boss!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

We need that bathtub warm water to drop about 5 degrees.  The weird part was we started south of the Malibu pier and and the water was super calm and super clear, but there were so many dolphins close in I think they spooked all the fish.  Pods within casting distance.  We got one smelt-zilla up there and bumped south.

That sounds like a fun bite!
