Bum Shoulder Bathroom Remodel

f@ck... I'm in constant pain but somehow got roped into a complete remodel of my daughter's bathroom.  My buddy was more than happy to show me the ropes on a remodel but this was going to be painful for my wallet and body.

Should be straight forward?

Right away he saw some serious issues with the framing of the house along with plumbing, false walls, electrical and insulation to say the absolute least.  Well, now it's become a much bigger project.  The tear down proved everything he thought was actually what he feared.

Hey, I got bushes growing in the walls!   :o

It was a nightmare, but we kept slowly rerunning electric, fixing plumbing... all just to make it up to code.

We realized the drain was set for a 46.5" shower insert and all shower inserts are now 48".  They actually built in a fake wall to fit this cheap ass shower when they built the place.  Only thing we could do to solve the issue was to hot mop the floor to make a new shower pan since all of the 48" ones wouldn't fit.

Gutted and now to build up...

The Lowe's run was an EXPENSIVE one..... I can't believe I fit it all in my truck.

The dirty part...

I've been helping my buddy but he's taken on 90% of the work since I had to work.  I am going to pay him for his services, that's for damn sure. We agreed to $300 a day but it means we've been working for a week straight and it's getting pricey.

I cut tile all day after building a raised planter super early this morning.  Nowhere near where I hoped to be at but there was a lot of structural fixing along the way.

Not done yet, but just took a picture with a bunch of the wall tiles up.  Hopefully tomorrow we can finish the tiling and that leaves just the grout and accessories.

I'm sure I'm missing a ton of stuff, but I'm not over that this is my daughter's bathroom and not our master bath which still looks 1980....

Oh well, I'll keep you posted with the progress but my shoulder is falling off right now.

You can't catch them from your computer chair.
