I got an invite for a "Crew Trip" onboard the Limitless.  There was going to be a few big players including Duane Diego, so how could I say no!  lol

Yellows are popping up big time at the 'Nados but they are really unwilling to bite.  We would have gone offshore, but the winds and seas were brutal, so we just stayed close to home.

The Captain had the most advanced electronics on the market... like the same one's the long range boats have.  He even had a "microphone" that you could hear the fish swimming by the boat.  It was so trippy, but I really dug this technology while fishing!

First stop and I get picked up but lost it.  Definitely a yellow.  20 seconds later and another guy hooks up!  Fought it almost to the boat and was a nice fish, but those damn circle hooks.  Yep, pulled the hook at color.

We worked hard using baits, yo-yo jigging and surface irons.  It was a machine on board, but nothing wanted to bite.

We searched around for any groups of biting fish.

I switched to a 25# bass rod and put on an 80-gram tiny spanish jig and started using it for my yoyo'ing.  Gotta try something different.  Captain didn't like my choice of gear and was almost bugged by it.  lol

I was ripping it off the bottom and about 40' up I get slammed!  The rod doubled over, and line started screaming out.  Captain didn't even want to watch since he already said he didn't approve of this choice, but he was really cool and funny about it.

Finally, I got it under control and realized it wasn't a yellow.  I was only shocked at how far up it must have chased it, but it was one healthy Ling!

We kept hitting the schools one after another, but we could only get them to come up on the chum for 5 seconds before dropping out fast.  Scott and Duane both got hit on the surface iron, but never connected.

After a full day, we called it quits.

No yellows, but what a fun time sharing stories and getting new intel from some of the best guys in the business.

Well, they start their season next week so that was a golden opportunity, but it didn't really pan out.  No matter as the trip itself was just fantastic making new friends and catching up with old ones.

Until next tide!

(I don't know what is going on with Imgur, but I can't get the pictures to display for some reason...)
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Captain didn't approve, but you caught a nice Ling, I bet he changed his tune after that ! ;D

Looks like a great day on the water even if they weren't cooperating 8)

We are having strange weather lately, it needs to commit to decent patterns so I can get The Cyclops wet, I think Cheez is running low on Taco meat ;D

Nice ling, good consolation for your efforts.

I vaguely recognize a couple other faces there. Good fishy companyZ
