Saltwater Boat Fishing Reports / Dolphin am 1/2 day 11/20
November 22, 2016, 05:24:33 PM
Short and sweet, fishing was tough, I really liked the boat and deckhands were awesome.
Got a bunch of short cudas, lots of short  calicos, and some rockfish.
Jp was a 1" past legal long.
Highlight for me was bringing up a calico on torium 30 and getting rocked  immediately, had to go aaround the boat for a few minutes till it got spit up, and when I landed the short calico its fins were crushed and scales missing, deckhands all agreed bsb
I'll definitely try that boat again.

Hey what's up guys. Sorry for the late report. Finally got a chance to sneak out last weds night and fished till late, although, I paid for it Thursday at work.
Fished from 8 till 2am, soaked Mac and bonito chunks. Bite went good after 11, got 1 female 7gill, forgot to measure, but it was a couple inches taller than me, so im guessing 75", Im 5'11". Also got some bass, 2 decent bats, a sngf, an eel and missed atleast 3 good screamers, along with the usual bass bites. Weird i missed up to 12/0, from my usual 9/0 hooks. Even got a 47" bat on the 20# spinning rod

Saturday night I hit the surf with a buddy and the wife.
We got the usual bass and even yfc on the light rod. Got wrecked and cut off the light gear. Line was all frayed up and cut after it sounded.
Lots of short bites and finally got my soupie, 69"and rushed to get her back in the water, excuse the pic quality.

Messed up my phones camera first of all. So obviously no pics.  Had a solo session at the casino from 7 till 9:45. Fished 2 rods, 1 was my carp rod with 20# braid and a battle 5000, and the other was my usual heaver.
Soaked mack chunks on the light rod and left the heaver out till 8. First cast nailed a baby leo.
At this time surfers were pretty much leaving, with the exception of 2 who arrived late and decide were I'm fishing is the best spot on the beach. Took 1 good clothesline on my heavy rod and some bitching on there end before they relocated.
As I'm retrieving the light rod,  I get slammed, to sum it up it took me up and down beach nearly spooling me on 1 occasion before workin it till the skinny. 52" bat on the carp rod.
Next the heaver gets hit. 20" sandy, at this time I realized I left my pliers in my light tackle bag  and this bass chocked the 12/0. So he came home for the bro.
Followed up with a small calico, a yfc and a -1 and I was good to go.

Hey happy easter guys. Figured today I wouldn't get a chance to hit the surf today so snuck out at 10 last night to give the beach a nice soak.
I tended to the heavers and starfish was vigil on the carp rod. Had 1 decent bite on the long rod,  turned out to be a just legal leo. And we got some of the usual calicos and a sargo on the 6/0 With squid! Packed up at 2 and headed to Carl's jr.

What's up guys. Sorry for the late post. Bin swamped with work lately...but luckily I can sneak out each night from 9 till 1 atleast ;)

Bin really out targeting those elusive grinners but the damn bass are in full gorge mode. Between me and starfish we lost over 20, miss bites every cast and if your baits bin sitting longer than 10mins, chances are baits bin stolen.
Unfortunately with all those bites we only landed 12 calicos and a sandbass or 2. Had 1 legit pulldown, but now that I look back, it was probably a monster bass. Luckily with my skill set I've bin able to avoid those eels aswell.
Biggest of the night was 21", by starfish, and many averaging the 18/19" mark. Gotta say,  she definitely had the hot stick.

Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / nice surf nice bass
February 16, 2016, 12:16:04 AM
With nice surf conditions I had to get out and hit the surf again.
Gf was ready when I got home from work at 6. So we hit the local liquor, picked up 3 macks and hit the Surf.
Used the carp rod and the heavy rod.
Had 2 legit pull downs, which I missed and I landed 2 decent bass at 17" and 19".
While getting ready to leave the gf's carp rod went off and turned out to be a real nice 24' calico on a mack chunk. Put up a good fight and really surprised us when it got beach.

Can't wait for tomorrow's sesh!

Wasn't expecting to get a chance to fish Sunday and surprise surprise gf mentioned she wanted to fish the bay. Score.
Got there at roughly 5 to an incredibly packed Fiesta island, took 2 round trips to find a spot I'd settle with.
Fished it till 8, she got got 2 pull down from butterfly rays.
Today we brought the light gear to soak for the bats.
At 8:30 we got to the new spot. She got the hot stick. And got absolutely owned on the 20#braid. No chance of this ray slowing down as it was spooling her and ended up busting the line since we had to thumb it.
Re-rig a mack chunk. Bendo 5 mins again after she casted. Really good fight followed by a nice 40" bat hitting the sand.

Release it and see my rod go bendo. This 1 I whipped quick, didn't measure, but i'd say 40" aswell.
Packed up in the next hr as we had no more solid hits.
Had in n out after and twas a good night

February 12, 2016, 06:10:28 AM
With hopes of a repeat of the previous trip I set out long rodding to some premium conditions with the gf.
Long story short, we had 1 pull down, which we missed. But got a nice 40" female leo to save the night. Fished from 6 till 9:30. Bait was mackerel

Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / 11/30 surf soak
December 01, 2015, 08:37:09 AM
Freezing night to be wading with no waders. Very dark.
Very low tide. Primo mackerel. Occasionally eel grass clumps. Avg soak time of 30 or so mins. Empty beach.
50% of the time my bait would return untouched. No noticeable bites....fished from 7:30 or so till 11:00. Hopefully next time.
