Been a hot minute since I've been to Alamitos. Newport has sucked for me lately so in hindsight I'm a bit surprised I didn't come back around sooner. Omar joined me this time.

Launched at about 0600, first light. Normally I can get a few before the sun rises but I did not get bit for an hour. Finally knocked off the skunk with an unusually light colored spotty.

Started on a slow pick from there between us, going back and forth with the lead. Water movement was not as obvious as other more productive times.

A couple pee pee poo poo bass between us as well. Ended up with 5 each, off the water before 1100. Nice morning, hot. Omar hadn't been out in over a month in the tube so he was reveling in it.

Latimeria

Is that a nuclear chicken color lure on the first pic?  That right there may be your problem.  lol

Well done boss and glad to read someone else's fishing post.  Forums these days have given way to a quick snapshot on social media and a quick line like "Look how great I am" or "Go get sum" instead of telling the story of the trip.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
