I Had a Vision of a Surf Ghost! (3/16)

On Friday night I kept going back and forth about what I wanted to do Saturday morning. The forecast looked pretty rough, so I just kicked back in my chair, trying to relax and see if any inspiration would hit me.

Somewhere in that little snooze, I had a dream of sticking a giant WSB right from the surf. Well damn, if that's not a premonition, I don't know what is.

I armed my surf gear and was ready to go.

I get to TP and the traffic was horrendous at o' dark thirty!  Then I realized, there was a marathon going on and all of the parking was taken up.  I must have watched a thousand runners go by, so I hit the beach through the back entrance.

The tides were looking good, but the beach was warning me this was going to be that type of trip.

I worked my way all the way to Delmar and only found a few spots to actually cast.  Most of the good holes were already taken up by perch guys.

The waves were also getting bigger.  I switched to a 5" weedless swimbait and still managed to get weeds, albeit nowhere as bad as the double grappling hooks on my YoZuri.

I had two bites which removed the paddle from the body.  I'm thinking it might be a sand bass, but that was the extent of my success.  Otherwise, it just felt good to get back out in the sand, but this is back-to-back skunks for me and a little worrying....

Until next tide!

Premonitions will definitely get you up early and casting. Too bad about the skunk. Wake me up when you hit double digit skunks, then Steve and I will put something together for you.

Hahahaha, I'll head down the street for some catfish before I let that happen.
