Relatively quick after work session. 1630-1930 or so. Light wind, warm.

Switched out lures a couple times before the fish decided they wanted nuclear chicken for dinner.

This one stuck me on a piling but I won the war.

A few more bites on that then it shut off. Switched to a pearl swimbait on an underspin and got a dink sandy, then zero bites on that.

Another carousel of lures, an hour goes by before I got another on the fluke.

~8 bites and 4 fish. Surprised it wasn't more consistent with the big tide I had going for me. May go slashin' around after work again tomorrow, not sure if I wanna do Newport or Huntington. I'm sure I will decide on the freeway home.

Man, I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous reading this. Sounds like a solid after-work session, especially once you dialed in the nuclear chicken bite. Love when they finally tell you what they want... even if it takes a few lure changes to figure it out.

Honestly, 8 bites and 4 fish isn't bad at all, but I get what you mean with a big tide, you expect it to just be wide open. Funny how it never quite lines up the way you think it should.
Meanwhile I'm over here having not fished in at least a month, so I'd happily take a "slow" session like that right now. You've got me itching to get back out there but the boats not fixed for the ocean yet.  Potentially take it for bonefish this weekend in the back bay (5mph zone) or maybe just cast big plugs in the surf for stripers, butts and WSB.

I need to get my fix in before I start to lose it over here.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
