V quick report.

Planned last night to fish Newport pre-dawn drifting medium-heavy gear, but couldn't sleep all night so bailed on the early rise, got out around 0900. Didn't look rainy out so I wore shorts instead of neoprene pants. Got to the beach and realized the neoprene would have been the play. Brought an 11' rod to throw 1.5oz c-rig with whole squid, with the aim of walking with the current.

Swell was around 3', wind was around 5mph from the south. 0900 was a 7' high tide so I was fishing the top of the outgoing.

Overall I got one short bite, not much life, but the water looked really good. Not much junk in the wash, water color was great, some good milky spots.

Thanks for the report boss.  Trust me, I totally appreciate it.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
