I hit up Mile Square again, wondering if a few days would make a difference in luck for me.

Arrived about 15:30, throwing the KM again. Cooler today, there was fog/overcast for most of the day so maybe that would take the edge off the water temp and put the trout in feeding mode.

30 minutes in and I snag a shad for the second time at this lake.

Bird of the day: Egyptian Goose

I skedaddled at 1630 without a bite.

Next time I may well try powerbait, not that any of the baiters caught anything today either.

Ordered my Power Egg assortment...I bet they would be good in the surf too.

Tried the Power Eggs today. My rig:
3# braid -> 8# mono 3/16oz tungsten slider, bead, swivel -> 3' of 3# mono, #12 treble with 2 yellow Power Eggs.

Brought a chair this time. Set up and cast within 10' of an aerator. Waited.

This guy was feeding the birds and taking pics with his 300mm lens of birds at his feet. Had a hundred birds following him. He gets to within 50' of me. Some random guy starts kinda teasing a goose by walking behind it. Bird feeder guy gets righteous and says something like "hey man, don't stress out the bird!" Then reiterated himself when the guy doesn't really listen. I almost called out bird feeder guy right there. I would have told him he shouldn't be feeding the birds, there are signs not to, bread will just make them sick, but the dumb goose is really no worse for wear if somebody teases it. I held my tongue though because I knew it would just turn into a bicker fest.

He walked by me and brought his hundred birds across my line.

One of the paddle boats broke free from the mooring somehow. It was pushed against the shore when I started and then started to float off at sunset.

I may well have ridden it around the lake to amuse myself if it hadn't been leaning to the port bow. Looked like maybe just water in the foot well but not the proper conditions to be so foolish. It's the offseason so I don't know when a park attendant will come next to fix that situation.

Yeah, I have to deal with bird dude on my lakes also. Friggin idiots dragging the birds over my line all the time.

You need to catch a trout! They're just dumb pool raised trained fish.  ;D
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
