I've noticed on days like these where the conditions are rough, the magic always seems to happen.

Time: 12:00 - 3 pm
Tide: dropping. peak low 2:30 pm @ 1.8 ft.
Water: really clear
Wind: 8-10 mph, white caps. very hard to cast.
Salad: half of casts retrieved w/ salad
Gear: 20$ shimano 9' 14-25lb w/ symetre 4000 20lb PP slick w/ 12lb topshot (3 feet). 3/4 oz Kroc

15 Mins into our sesh i get a twist in my new PP super 8 slick 20 lb. still launched the 3/4 oz kroc far enough. 5 seconds into retrieve i'm hit hard! Rick asks if its a good one. i respond oh yeah! playing him lightly cause the twist. which i then see come out of the water. still scary i manage to fight back and got a visual on the fish! saw him like 40' out from me zip across 3' in a little current to my left. i saw while i was on a rock. I yell out huge Calico! i have 30' of line out and the line twists gets caught in my reel. Move rod to left hand, grab line with right. pull him up lightly. Fish Landed!!!!!  :D
Epic catch today surf fishing!!!! Toad Calico Bass. On a 3/4 oz Kroc. Seems on rough conditions is when the bass are on the prowl. This is what its all about! Wooooooo!!!!!

Wooooo! thought it be awhile since i have another epic catch. No tape measuring this time. but i'd say it was around 20". So epic for me to see him zip across the water in the clear conditions and wearing polarized glasses. Especially since i was able land it with the bad line twist AND when he zipped across he almost snagged me a big rock my line was about 2' over it. If it crossed the rock it would have been bad!

Here is some Pics from the last week. Rick scored another Juvi WSB, i got a couple calicos and horn sharks and i found a nice swimbait wash up. Little too big for the surf if you ask me.

They sure do pack on the weight like bats.

I tailed a larger one in that spot for some guy and was surprised how heavy it was.

Ya it was really surprisingly heavy! i saw a video and these guys on the pier said the one they caught was 47" 50lbs. so i'm think mine was like 35-40.

Oh man what a night... guess i'll just start from the begging but first i'd like to say a Big thanks to Ramon and Brant for really opening world to chase the big critters.  :D

Started off about 2pm and landed a PB hornshark within 20 minutes. i'd say he was around 30"

Hour later. a nice 46" come up after a 15 minute battle

After this i had one bust me off on the rocks within 45 minutes. and then i got a run on my Light gear 30lb. the hook just fell out of its mouth 3 minute into his run.

Light got picked up, 20 mins later this 40"ish hits the sand. great action on my symetre 4000 lol.

Then mr wiggles came to play! 38" another PB!

And another bat! in the 40"ish range

Then a 49" comes out after another 20 minute battle.

My friend got an epic shot!

Another horn shows up

Angel shark!! Pretty rare ehh?

Got a story with this one. I was reeling up to reel up and i thought i was snagged on a rock cause thats how it felt. I tightened up the drag thumb the spool to play with the pressure before i tried some angles. i start walking back while thumbing the spooll. and it felt like i was seaweed and it came loose. But i was on an Angel Shark! He was Posted on the ground and wouldn't budge at first! thought i was snagged lol! never saw a bite so i was confused. start reelin em up and felt some shakes!. couldn't tell what it was at first. But it was heavy felt atleast 25 lbs.

42"

Mug shot

9th hour for the 9th fish! taped out at 49"

Woww what a day! i'm soar. i'm stoked! normally i would wait till the next day to post up but its 3 am. I've only caught 2 big bats prior to this. and 1 was on the pier and the other was last week off the surf! Long rodding welcomed me warm. lol Thanks for reading my long report guys!

After releasing a small one. i walked out in water to cast. I felt the ray touch my foot! good thing i didn't get stung. it was for sure the one i had just released.

- 5 Bats
- 2 Hornshark
- Big Mr wiggz
- Angel shark!
