Congrats on a nice Soupie!! We fished 5 rods for 1 missed run last night. Man the waters have been calm and looks like it will be till friday. Watering the garden and off to work. Might hit it again tonight.

Damn we are finall getting into some action! cqn't wait to get some more of these surface trashing toothy beast! After looking at the magic list i noticed soupfins only up to 79". Kinda wished mine was measured as it seemed about 6 feet in the pic. Took me a bit to drag that 100" 7 gill on the sand. I feel like the smaller ones are more dangerous. LEts get em again Edgar ;). yeh Tom that Black sea bas hamb urgered my hand lol

Went out armed with Macs and squish along with two bones and fresh leaders. Big swell around 4-5' that came rolling in every few minutes Very foggy out with very calm wind. Grass was an Issue and made us burn out bait quickly.  Awesome fight with countless headshakes. I was using Mac/squish and thought i had a shark for sure.  Stoked to have this beauty on the sand momentarily. It was tough for Edgar and I to transport it back to the water because of how heavy it was! Swam off strong.

Sunday - Wednesday look good so far so pull in so sharks fellas! Wonder what the ocean has in store for me next.  :o

xjchad: Only complaint is it is pretty heavy. Other than that its a super solid reel. I use the 8500 size but i would have been fine with 7500.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully the first of many sharks for myself! You guys made me more stoked on catching this LA county 7 gills. Bait was Mackerel Head.

Wow Ron! You sure Killed it. Pretty sure this one of the only sessions someone has gotten 3 grinners. Wish i went but there will be many more nights of opportunity. I had a feeling you would get some more when you called me after landing your first of the night.

Went out this evening and landed my first two 7 gill sharks! also got a ray around 48" The shark burn is reel! had a blast tugging on these beast. Grigor got some awesome shots as i was doing the shark dance. Pretty sketchy landing these. What is the safest way to take out the hook?

Number two. Slighty larger model. Id say they were both between 60-70" not exactly sure. Thoughts?

Bat ray joins the fun.

Had a decent session two weeks ago and landed this
52.5"

Miro's 57" monster caught two weeks ago on a 7' terez. Congrats Miro!

Caught this halibut the other day along with some more shorts and small bass.

It was a great feeling to finally get the shark i've been after. Landed two made it even better even though the didn't fight as much as expected. Can't wait  ! A friend also landed a nice leo around 40-45"

Stay sharky everyone!

Sweet report Edgar! That is the biggest bat ray i've ever seen or heard of being caught. I knew it had my PB beat when i was leadering the fish. 57" and a true surf behemoth. Time for some sharks for real...
