Diesel was anywhere from 8 to 9 bucks a gallon up there

 Time for another trip to The Sierras, this time doing a trial run on my Camper Shell Build Out Got things organized and packed up on Tuesday and ready for the road on Wednesday morning.



Got on the 15 North early and was on my way with light traffic.


Pulled into camp around Noon and parked, my site was right next to Bishop Creek (50 feet away) so I grabbed my rod and made quick work 



My Sister was camped next to me and couldn't believe it, she had fished the spot for 3 days prior for the SKUNK   Since it was lunch time, I busted out the stove and made a couple hot dogs and Set up shop



I brought my Generator just in case it was too cloudy for my Solar Panels, never needed to use it, the solar panels kicked ass and kept my Power Station charged up the whole time


The next day I ventured up towards South Lake and fished a pond I like, saw hundreds of 8" trout and quite a few Bruisers in the mix but they had other plans     Oh well, I was just lucky to have the place to myself Chest Waders made it possible to walk out in the middle of the Beauty !




Friday we all went to Lake Sabrina (20 minutes from Camp) Had to navigate rocks with a bum knee, Sketchy to say the least, only ate it a couple times It was worth it


I ended up getting 3 in that spot with a 1/32 OZ Hookup Bait and my Brother in law got one on a Thomas Buoyant Lure
 

Breakfast was easy, a Custom McMuffin 




Time to hit the creek again and......Boom ! Such a cool spot 





Took a hike with my Sister and Bro in Law, gotta work the knee





Had an early Steak Dinner, caught a few more fish and called it a day.





Sunday I rolled out of there at 5:30 am, I'm sure everyone in Camp was thrilled to hear my Diesel fire up , Topped off my tank and was on the 395 South at 6:15 am and got home at Noon, great time ! Forgot to mention that Diesel was $8 a gallon   Hopefully the weather clears up and conditions get good so I can get The Cyclops wet again soon 
 

Looks like a fun project to get it dialed in to your liking. A little at a time and you will have your Dream Boat 

Wow, that Sub was close Maybe Max or Myles will catch one of your donated YT in the bay

 Was supposed to leave yesterday and spend 5 days up there but my buddy had a company emergency
Looks like the trip will still happen more towards the end of the month. It's Ok cause all the trees will be changing colors and the scenery will be even more beautiful by then

Just Kidding, once you learn the theory of backing up, it's super easy and you will be a Pro 

The last one I caught in MB was the beginning of Summer and we were targeting  Bats.

We didn't troll at all cause there was a lot of eel grass and kelp floating in the zone, along with a fleet of other boats. We will try the trolling setup next time but the bite must have died off cause when we came back from trying to catch Macks at the pier the fleet was gone, so we just started rock hopping, it was actually a fun trip with such epic conditions.

 Had to take a break from The Sierras and get The Cyclops wet, called Cheez in Arizona and he made the trek to my house Thursday afternoon so we could fish Friday   Max and Myles decided to join in so we got up early and headed to Dana Landing. The fog had rolled in and it was necessary to fire up the Radar to make sure we didn't collide with anyone, Mr. One Eye was being cautious





We couldn't find any bait, even looked by the pier so we resorted to frozen squid and on our way to our first spot we were flagged down by a guy that needed help He landed a nice White Sea Bass and ended up with a Squidtrex hook in his thigh     Tried to help with Dikes to cut the barb but he was in too much pain and said screw it !

The Twins and I had to get in on the action too




Meanwhile, Max took a nap and Myles and Cheez kept picking off some Taco Meat
 


I had to keep up so I contributed to the mix




Super flat conditions so we didn't leave La Jolla till 4:45 pm      Cheez got the biggest Red of the day but we all got a nice variety




Did I mention Max took a long nap ??   


A great day on the water and we filled the Kill Bag with plenty of fish



Saturday was "Wash The Boat Day" and Fish Tacos for Dinner and Sunday was time to put the cover back on the boat and Cheez headed back to Arizona


Looking forward to another trip to LJ soon, might have to squeeze in one last trip of the year back to The Sierras as well in a couple weeks
