Wanted to check beaches to see if fishable and swung by TP but there was no parking. Waves were high but I've been in worse. Went up to Del Mar and saw a spot to park right by the 29th street beach entrance.
Parked and it looked fishable. So I loaded the beach cart and hit the sand. While earlier I was leaning towards hitting Mission Bay I figured I had never been on that beach and decided to roll the dice.
Salad was minimal in the water but boatloads on the beach. Fish action was nil. I got there right at high tide peaking and had to wait for surfers and lots of dogs to get out of my hair.
I only had squid and while some got messed with by smaller stuff the bottom line is skunked again in the surf. Good news was conditions you could fish in.

Well, good to hear it was fishable at least.
Yeah, just being able to fish and have a bait soak is half the battle! Now you need to get the other half done and get that big game surf fish! Steve went something crazy like 50 trips without a big fish, but came on strong when the streak ended.
Thanks for the report Jim. That's good news.
For tp, park by the apartments and walk down.. Fish as late as you want...

I try to park by the lifeguard towers right by the beach. There isn't a sign for a time limit but is there one?

Park around Carmel Valley Rd and McGonigle Rd near the paid parking entrance then just walk in free of charge.
It's been uber slow! But tomorrow is another day!
It almost makes me feel better that I have not had much time to fish! ;D
Damn, when it goes off, it is going to be a big one!
