"Bitten on Hand".... I wonder if he snorkeled with it and tried to hand feed it some of his dead sardines from the bait tank? That would be too obvious though and I'm sure he has a much better story made up to not make him look like an idiot.
I'm with Tom on this one. Could have been a watch it wanted though.
Since the actual story is unknown, speculation is high and the hand feeding while snorkeling sounds like a likely truth. People always claim to be experts, especially with the Uber popular Shark Weeks, but people needs to really respect these animals and understand that part of that respect may include when not to be in the water with them. It seems like some divers underestimate Scalloped Hammerheads. They don't seem to have any fear and are very curious.
As it has been stated before, once we entire the water, we forfeit our tone as the top predator.
I hope the person is ok. 100 miles offshore is a long ways out.
