As I gear up for pursuing long rod targets it occurred to me that once hooked I have no clue on landing rays or sharks.
Is there a tip thread or once geared would it be best to go out with some of you experienced guys for learning the ins and outs?
Jim
It's honestly best to just go with a few experienced people man
TIP #1 - Don't get speared and don't get bit.
;)
;D ;D
Bats have ear-holes you can grab em by and drag up beach. Sharks you tail grab... but watch them ankles. They can easily swing around and bite, and they will try.
I'm with Ray. Watch a couple times and get an idea.
Also agree with Dave. Stay away from the pointy parts.
^^ What they all said. Where's your location? Maybe you could tag along with someone, if you're in their area, to see it first hand.
I'm in eastern San Diego county so Torrey Pines or below is best. ANyone going out let me know and I can bring along some bait.
