I was working on the boat on Friday and tweaked my shoulder. Lobster fishing on Saturday only made it 10x worse and I'm fearing I tore something in my already repaired shoulder. Ugh
In a sling now, but I hope to feel less pain in the coming days or I'll be back to the doctor to figure it out.
Ouch, not a good time to be down when bugs are crawling :( Mine was sore after pulling up Reds from over 500' but I'm good to go. Hope you heal quick !
Since we're talking shoulder, been dealing with an "impingement" in my right for the last 4 months. Pain in my a$$!! Cortisone shot either hasn't kicked in or isn't effective. It's been 2wks since the shot. MRI is next. Ugh.
Had both shoulders done, both started the way you described and surgery was the only cure. Be prepared for a brutal recovery, it SUCKS !!!
Hoping this doesn't turn into a whole thing for you, Tom. Sounds like a serious drag.
How's the shoulder now?
Better, but still hurts. I haven't done much since injuring it though.
Good news and some slightly bad news on my shoulder.
Good news is it is not my shoulder. I have to admit, I knew there were screws in there, but never seen an x-ray with them in there before. It was trippy how big those two anchors are in my bone! My other shoulder has 5 screws. Just a really weird visual knowing that is my shoulder. LOL
Not so great news is it's my neck. Apparently when I was working on my boat and was contorting to get to the areas I needed to, I slipped a disc in my neck. That night when I went lobster fishing, I bulged the disc and now I have a herniated disc in my neck pressing against my nerve. Hmmm.... They said I can totally make it worse, but they are going to put me on steroids to get the swelling down and send me to therapy to hopefully fix the problem.
Doctor said "Oh, and you also have arthritis in your neck which is usually what I see with people in the construction business at your age..." At my age?!?! Ugh.... these kids....

Ha Ha, you be getting old ;D
30 years of operating Heavy Equipment, I am feeling it for sure and have been dealing with the arthritis as well for about 5 years now :( Looks like you are aging like the rest of us Old Farts ;D
Hope you get the neck issue resolved, that has to be very uncomfortable and a major inconvenience besides a Pain in the Neck !!! >:(
Boy oh boy...I really gotta start taking preventative measures now, as fun as you guys make getting older sound.
I hope the PT works that out for you Tom.
I feel you Tom, I had a herniated disk in my lower back about 10-12 years back. Opted for 6 months of physical therapy over surgery. Luckily I was able to alleviate 95% of the pain. Still get some pain sleeping, but changing positions resolves that. About 20 years ago I had an mri when I had some back pain that showed a bulge in my lower back and neck.
Getting old sucks! Welcome to the club.
Welcome to my world old timer.
