Well, damn. Met up in the surf with Ray in hopes to get on a grinner or two. Conditions looked pretty damn good and we started to get into a bunch of short biters, but I managed to get one of them.
Little Calico.

It was really starting to look good, when the grass beasts started to come rolling through. I'm not kidding... they were busting the 80 shock leader. Ray actually busted off and sure as sh!t, I happened to snag his weight and hook and he got it all back.
Unfortunately for me, I tried one more cast and lost everything. This is the third time this year I recovered their rigs and lost my own. I even paid the fish gods their homage and at least I didn't coma away with the skunk.
Hopefully the beaches clean up and the sharks start to show again.
Sucks about the sharks. I still say it's pretty sweet you guys get Calicos as your bycatch!
Well you got bit, and didn't blow another disk out B) the fish gods know your not ready! Lmfao! Next time boss! Save ur legs for the FHS tomorrow ;)
Thanks for the rig return service Tom.
Good to see you guys getting out. Hopefully the grass moves out soon.
Yeah it was certainly real tough...bummer with such nice surf conditions too....really overdue to go off soon
Nice checkers Tom. Thanks for the report. Easy choice now for me in the AM, gonna try and see if there are some top water fish still around.
Sorry Tom, the surf is gonna pumping this weekend and into the next week and the grass beasts will be reproducing big time! Bay time...
Great way to beat the skunk 8)
At least you didn't end with a stripe! I hope the grass waits a bit before it gets bad elsewhere.
I need to start taking a camera that can actually take a night pic ... rather than the phone LOL ...
Nice checker ! 8)
