: Fishing Conditions

Today I had my last day of PT for my knees and was planning on taking the boat out Friday... and basically the entire weekend.

Saw 5-8 foot swells and 4-5' wind waves....  Not sure what I'm going to do now....

Steve, let's see what Friday looks like tomorrow.  I'm still down with the bay, but want to see which way that wind is whipping up.

I was planning on doing something Sunday. Weather hit the big bay or mission I had halibut on my mind. I have a downrigger I'd like to play with and have heard good things about the Coronado side by the bridge.

If we had a big bay and I had a boat, "that's where I'd be"   8)

I was playing with the idea of fishing inside the LB breakwall for butts on Sunday, but even there it seems like it'll be colder and windier than I'd like.

outside middle wall is awesome for calicos, especially at the elbow

before there were all these fancy baits we would use 3/4 oz leadhead with vinyl plastic skirt, red/brown/black/purple/orange single and/or color combinations add a piece of squid

40 fish nights were not uncommon

inside wall not as good, but better than nothing

fishing the inlets can be good, the breakwater endwall rocks at 45 degree underwater rocks that extend out aways, but keep a close eye out for big ships
