: Covered Patio Project
: Latimeria September 30, 2020, 07:57:49 p
Need as many hiding spots as I can come up with since my wife only works from home now.  There no escape... so getting a covered patio built so I can have a lounging area, bar and outdoor kitchen...

Footers in..

Not me.  I have someone doing the work at a friend's rate, so I'm on his busy schedule.  I think that was the original plan, but the shortage of wood along fitting me in and all of the other things has him doing it in some crazy order, or at least how I see it.  He got the wood while it was available.

I "Think" his next plan is to get the painter in to paint it before the roofer comes in to do his thing.  Then the concrete work....

The post holders are set up now as anchors for when the rebar and patio get paved over it, so it won't be going anywhere, at least from what he tells me.  I'm sure this is all not ideal, but everyone seems to be in a two month waiting list and my friend's price break requires squeezing me in when he has opportunity.

This is all just from my observation and some conversation.  Things seemed to have switched orders the last few conversations.

When it's all said and done, you will really love the space ;)

I'm with Tim.

You can put some chairs out right now if you want and test drive it.

Slow and steady wins the race I guess.  It took a week of prep and paint, but the seams are caulked and all the rough spots are smoothed out with bondo before getting brush and roller painted...  It will be nice to finally actually see the patio part.  I test drove it with a c*cktail sitting in a chair, but ready for the bar and TV.

My folding chairs in the dirt out back were nice for a few days, but this needs to move along.  Supposedly by Friday they are planning to pour the pad... hopefully I'll get my boat back and return to a shiny new cement patio.  With that said, neither may happen as I'm even still waiting for insurance approval on my MRI...  WTF 2020!!!!!

While the cement is still wet, instead of a hand print let's see a shark tooth or a fish skeleton, that would be cool ;D

That gives me a great idea!  I'm not sure when they are pouring or if I'll be around, but I'll see what I can do.

I wanted a BBQ pad attached that wasn't covered so I didn't ruin all that nice white paint with my grilling.
The truck showed up while I was watching my granddaughter and she was wondering what the hell was goin on!

Should be all wrapped up on Tuesday with the roof and electrical.  I can't wait!

I thought about it, but decided to leave the slab a virgin.

Started getting it all filled in...  The wife and I are battling over "how much of what" will be out there like taxidermy.  lol

Coming along quite nicely even though the gutters weren't installed correctly.

That's exactly what we are trying to get it all done for.  Still waiting on some deliveries so it'll be cutting it tight to get everything in and assembled.

Still coming along.  Trying to get so much done before I possibly get my shoulder surgery.

New 225W outdoor speakers in case I want to piss off the neighbors.

The wife needed a Happy Corner with no fish in it.  I said it wasn't going to happen... so I put something up with fish on it she really couldn't say no to.  hahaha

Bar stools came missing parts and just finally got the rest of the other things to make sure it's ready for Thanksgiving.  We only have a couple of family coming over, but we're going to have a nice outside entertaining area. (Notice the SNBF trophy behind the bar?  My wife and I are battling over that staying for some reason... She wants a Buddha head there!  NOT going to happen)

Of course, I wanted a bug zapper so i could give a fist pump every time it electrocutes an unsuspecting bug.

The only way we could get the vampire daughter out of her room all day was to get a chair that she fell in love with.

I'm working on the patio for the rest of the afternoon and should have a great picture for the early evening shot as I'm cooking up some Rib Eye, Shrimp and scallops on the grill!  Unfortunately, our patio rolling kitchen cart's not here, but no worries.  This is Christmas for my wife and I so we'll just be watching our kids/grandkid open presents.  I have a feeling this is also part of my birthday gift also.  hahahaha

I'll post some more complete pictures later when i get it all squared away.
