Went out to pick up my new reel yesterday.. Kinda was getting tired of not being able to keep up when i was getting charged at.. After all i've only been casting a jigmaster which i'll probably end up making it into a project reel.. Conditions were super cool.. Not a bunch of weeds or anything crazy.. Did end up with a massive pull down with a nice size crescent shape left in the bait.. But all i was able pop the cherry and beat the skunk with was a key chain leopard....

Purty reel! At least you beat the skunk! More than I can say for the weekend! 8)
Going with the lever drag I see. How's the comparison to your old Jigmaster?

Honestly I'm not getting the same distance off of it yet but it definitely has more balls.. The jigmaster was the only conventional I've ever casted and the reason I got it is because I REALLY wanted that carnage 2 heaver.. As far as the lever drag is concerned I have no complaint.. On one hand it's quicker and easier to put it on them and on the other hand it requires me to have to carry more equipment (scale) to set it.. Haven't had the need for the 2 speed yet I've just kept it in high.. But I do appreciate having a reel with bearings.. I just need to get use to having a smaller surface area on the side of my spool to ride my thumb on in cast.. I only had one back lash I had to work out so I'll get it..
And I'm not considering it broke in yet... Cherry pop though.. Haha..
Yeah, that reel is nice. Lever drag reels makes it so you don't worry about over tightening the drag in the middle of a battle. Do you leave your real in gear when waiting for a bite?
Thank you.. I think I burnt the drag out on my jigmaster so there was no over tightening.. Haha.. I had to thumb the spool just to try to bury the hook.. And yes I've been leaving it in gear.. I've been using a pulley rig and it just seems like a lot of line to pick up.. Why??
