Binh and I hit the surf hoping to find favorable conditions to go with the sweet tide and expected grunion run. Found the grunion, conditions not favorable. Strong downhill current. As the tide crept in, large clumps of kelp and surf grass was pulled off of the beach and found our lines. No fun. I avoided the skunk with a beastly bat at 53". Binh mentioned that he had a legit grinner bite right before I got the there. Bummer. Hope conditions improve soon.

I kept waiting for the wind to die down. Never did before I left.
You're definitely attracting the big bat mommas Mike!
Bummer about the conditions, hope it clears up soon down there!
Damn! The big bats are hanging strong! Nicely done Mike! The sharks need to show sooner than later though. It looked like the start of a hot bite and then the shark grounds turned into the bat cave!
Sounds like our night, you'll get 'em next time
Nice bat Mike. Went last night, the conditions in the water were the same...but some grinner action happening... hopefully Steve will post

What did he get? A smoothie? Leopard? Soupie? 9-gill?
