Has anyone ever been surf fishing in Puerto Vallarta? If so, please share some tips on what type of tackle to bring, bait to use or lures?
You going Andre?!! Never been, but spent plenty of time in Cabo and it's almost the same. Less tropical.
2pc rods from 9' to 12'. Size and line rating depends on what reel(s) your mating it to.
Shiny lures (castmasters, crocs, mega baits, etc...)
Live bait hooks from size 4 to 1/0 for bait fishing unless your going after sharks then scale up.
Stick baits (sub-swimmers, surface swimmers, walk the dog)
I typically don't bring plastics as everything has teeth down there.
Sinkers of various sizes
I'd need more specifics in what you already plan in bringing and what you want to target them I can recommend specific items.
When are you going Andrea? Very cool, I'm jealous indeed
Thanks for the response and information, I will be there in about two weeks. Looking forward to hitting the surf out there.
What are you bringing tackle-wise?

I will be bringing a nine foot rod to toss top water lures, and a 12footer to fish for sharks the way we do up here. I had a chance to talk to someone at a local bait and tackle shop in Puerto Vallarta(Master Baiters) that's the name of the shop, he kinda gave me the skinny on surf fishing areas to target.
