I'm getting a couple rod geeks blanks and wondering which one matches with the majority of what you guys use. I prefer 13ft so I'm getting the 20-60lb and maybe the lighter 12ft. Going to wrap one up for the grinner gathering and have it as a prize for the biggest or most inches of sharks caught. Maybe we can convince skrilla to do one too and have both categories available.

If I had my choice I'd go with the same 13' your talking about Chris but sure wouldn't mind throwing the 13' 30-80 with 18oz of mack & lead on it for a sesh just to see what that can do...never felt a rod with that weight rating and that length... :o

That's more ulua style and we toss 7-10oz weights and slide the bait. I have one, when I get it out of storage I'll bring it down.
Big baits don't fly far. You can load the rod with weight and bait but probably get 40yrds max. Unless you get that perfect cast and get up to 60. I've tossed 8oz and palm size baits up to around 80 but when I was tossing half bluefish and weight I had to wade out and would get in the zone but be freezing and wet.
Heard of them, never seen or held one.
Very generous to wrap one as a prize.
20-60 would cover me nicely.
I was just looking at these guys recently. And liked the looks of that particular blank. Seems similar to the St Croix mojo. I wonder what kind of split it is. The biggest downside for me on the Mojo is the 70-30 split on it, more difficult to transport an 9 ft tip section vs 2 6 ft sections.
A bit pricey for a blank. Not a big fan of the split either. Would like to toss one out though.
9ft is tuff to transport.
I sold a 9ft teremar for that reason.
I like my 70/30 split 12fter. It's one of the few two pieces I haven't blown up.
