Mom was in town hanging with some friends. Took the train down from Pismo.
She called Tuesday and said she was going to the ER with leg pain. Turns out it was sciatica. Ugh. Pretty much unable to sit without pain. Kind of eliminates 8 hours on the train to get home.
So, yesterday I loaded her up in the wife's car, reclined the seat and drove her home.
She says "Maybe you can fish before it rains" Didn't make it. 45 minute construction delay at Carpinteria didn't help any.
Woke up this morning, rain had stopped, and hit the beach. Luckily the forecast 8-12 foot surf only results in huge surge by the time it gets to shore.
Took awhile, but I found the perch and got around 20. Mostly perfect bait size, but the bigger ones started biting towards the end.
I had to split because the rainbow offshore was now nearly over my head. Just got out of the waders and in the car when the rain started. Perfect timing.
Out ran the storm and drove home in beautiful winter weather.
No pics. Just perch. I can throw out some stock pics if you guys want.
Nice for your mom and nice for you :D
You're a good son :)
You're a good son. What do these perch look like that you speak of?

Something like the fish in this report. Mine were smaller though.
Nice timing 8)
It sucks getting older.
So that's where the perch went. North for the winter.
