: BOGO Daiwa Emcast Spinning Reel

Great deal! Lots of drag and designed for long distance casts. A very popular reel for the surf in Cabo going after roosters and crevales. I can totally see it be an excellent shark reel.

I had a 5000 before I converted over to conventional.  The long tapered spool made a huge difference, for a spinner it casts like a cannon.  Denny hung a 51" bat on it with no problem

At the price their going for ($99 for 2), I'm almost tempted to get one, but I'm not a fan of big spinners. Could be a loaner rig for non-conventional users. Hmmm....

The 5500 they have up for $69 is a deal too, and has more line capacity...Not sure I'd feel confident in a situation where a smooth drag is critical, but like you say, for a loaner...

Anyone wanna go halves on a 5500?
