With the dry summer and hard dirt they have been inactive. Got some shoots of sprouting plants and noticed the canyon has new holes. Get on you guard because this rain will definitely sprout plants and gophers will be on the prowl.
Bastiges! At least I have a garden area to bury the dead ones in to fertilize it.
Jim
They infiltrated my yard already. I finally got the leader and noticed they moved to my neighbor's yard now. I'll post pics of the kill later. 🤘
Nice. I did a walk around yesterday and no signs. I have my traps ready and will put carrots and greens in the burrows this year not just the trap. Fuggers got smart and covered them with dirt.
Jim
The coyotes and Hawks keep mine somewhat in check. The worst ones are the ones that surface through my asphalt driveway.

Nice kill, maybe make a few baits out of it?? ;D
Got a brilliant one who keeps burying the traps. Dug a big hole and used traps in the tunnels and sticky trap in the center. Covered with plywood and dirt.
This morning lifted the plywood and the industrious fugger filled in the hole. >:( >:(
4 days of setting traps and fail. May dry ice the tunnels to suffocate it Saturday.

I've been having pests dig up my garden and realized it wasn't a gopher. I killed the two gophers who found my front yard, but decided to do something dastardly to the garden pest. I'm pretty sure it is a skunk and have to approach this delicately, so I bought a dozen mouse traps and set them up all inside the garden. That bastard hit every one of them and shook them off all over the place. I did this for 3 nights in a row and no more skunk. I think he is done having mouse traps snap on his feet and face.
Ironically, i was watching the three stooges that morning and came up with the idea. Thanks Moe, Larry and Curly!!!!
Mine is still around. Got a cheap game camera to do some surveillance. Backyard looks like it was bombed.

Ain't gonna lie, after 2 weeks of trying, damage all over the yard, I got him, buried him, and danced on the fuggin grave!

Lol Jim!!!
That's one of the greatest feelings in the world... and makes Caddy Shack so much more relevant than I could ever have imagined!
It's amazing how many times they escape the traps, but when you get them it is so gratifying!
Bravo Jim! LOL 8)
