Wow! a midshipman hunter! Super cool to see what they've been feeding on.
Nicely done boss and great looking eats!
What's a midshipman? And what were those in its stomach? Did you eat the thornback or the Leo?
How did it taste?
Nice going!
How was the leo? I've been planning to eat the next legal one I catch.
Mind posting how you cooked it in the Food forum?
Midshipman is a common fish up north but pretty uncommon here. 1 have only caught 2. Both under bridges in backbay. Surprised to see this Leo had 3 in its belly. The Leopard shark tastes great . Just have to remove any red bits and soaked in a bowl of water with salt ,vinegar and little milk. Deep fried it . Rolled in flour and dipped in a simple batter. Old bay and tajin was the seasoning.
Nice!! Haven't eaten a leo in a long while! They are tasty!!

Midships in our range are highly bioluminescent and often give off a green glow almost the exact same color as the green glow sticks we all use on our rod tips. With that in mind it's why I'll fish with a small one clipped on with my sinker at night most of the time. It seems to reason that any predator that make midshipmen part of their diet that sees that green glow near the bottom is going to associate it with a midshipmen and at least approach it to investigate.
