: The catfish spine completes its journey.

You can't make this stuff up.

Last week my leg was feeling pretty good.  The infection was cleared up, and the pain in my Achilles tendon was going away.  Then, out of nowhere, part of my calf muscle on the side of my leg opposite the wound start hurting.  It hurt bad.  On Monday I woke up in agonizing pain, and when I touched the spot where it hurt, I was surprised to feel something sharp under the skin.  I was able to see a surgeon today, and after just 15 minutes he pulled this out.

That thing spent 6 weeks slowly working its way through my leg from one side to the other.  Here's the entry wound, which later got infected, and is all healed up now.

And here's where it came out on the opposite side.

Dude!  You need to get attacked more often so we could all read up on fresh reports from you!  Nice!

Did you at least get to eat some of that catfish?

Somebody in the group ate the catfish.  Not sure I had any, but I'd like to think that I did. :)

I asked for the spine, but the surgeon says he has to send it to my insurance company for some reason.  I made him add a note requesting that they send it back when they're done with it so I can pick it up.  That thing is mine!
