My buddy Andrew just got out to San Diego the other day and has the pleasure to work out here the next 3 weeks. I am determined to get him on some fish and especially a Leopard Shark since they don't have anything like that out in Virginia Beach!
We met Steve at the spot and fishing was originally salad free. It wasn't long before I get a quick hit and haul up this nice bass!

We then had a flurry of eels and lobster munching our bait before I had a real hit which ripped out line. I thought I hooked it, but I felt it flip and *POOF.... gone.
Things got weedier and weedier until it was impossible to cast without immediately getting kelped. My last ditch effort got me snagged in the reef and I lost my rig. I knew I shouldn't have cast out again, but I wanted that last cast bite too much.
Oh well. the bass wasn't a giant, but 20.5" and 3.33 pounds is a nice eater.

Until next tide!
It was great for awhile, but when the weeds showed up, they were bad.
Bummer about all the vegitation :(
In the words of Quint, you loose one, you right one.
Nice Calico, though.
