I never wanted it or ever downloaded it, but while I was typing up my report from tonight, it automatically f@cked me and started to update my computer with it. Was this a mandatory update? There goes 20 minutes of my post that I was just about to submit. Damn it... not in the mood to retype it whenever the computer finally lets me back on.. grrrrr, so frustrated right now having to type this on a chroomebook.
No not mandatory, but MSN is being very forceful about it. Even to the point where clicking the red x at the top right of the window will start the download.
It is reversible ... but the notifications are relentless and a daily occurrence for me. I just right-click and close in the notification bar.
Microsoft recently changed it from an optional update to a recommended update and if you have your computer set to install updates automatically (default setting btw) Windows will automatically upgrade itself. Microsoft is getting pushy lately about it since the free upgrade period is ending soon.

It's better than 8 unless you have any boot legged software or music downloaded... then it sucks balls.
I get pop up notifications to upgrade to windows 10.
I bought my sony vaio lap top new about 5 years ago.
it's a bit slower now and I guess a bit out dated but I could care less.
I can still access the forums and do what I need to do.
I have no desire to upgrade and try to figure out how the new stuff works.
Why fix something that's not broken.
