There is no tagging out here but I remember on shark week a show on 7 gills they would ID individuals by the spots.
If we had a rouges gallery of 7's shot from the same angle, lets say front right side of the head is there were distinctive spots maybe we are catching the same ones year after year.
So next ones y'all catch get a right side profile shot. Let's see if we can faceprint them.
Thoughts?

Steve and I on numerous fishing trips have caught similar sized 7-gills on the same evening that we wondered if they were the same fish. The few pictures I have that could compare the spots didn't match up, so I know at least on some occasions that they are different sharks. I think just a shot from the top of the head would work and be much easier if it helps any.
Good observation and it would be awesome to find any sharks that have been caught multiple times.
Cool idea!
I was wondering if the one I caught was the same 98" incher that Adam caught since we were in similar areas. ???
Kind of an interesting idea. Like Tom says, we have wondered the same thing.
I feel that it is pretty unlikely we're getting the same ones. I have yet to see mouth scarring and this year we've had them run the gambit from Pink, to dark grey, to the usual light grey. Plus, if we're honest, as careful as we are with them I'm sure there is some attrition. I know I've had a few that struggled to get out past the surf on release and hard to say if he survived.
Not 7's but hannah and I have caught the same bull shark in one night. The fresh hook marks gave it away.
Just put PS stickers on them ... sheshh.... ;D
I like this idea!
What if we stickied this thread and posted all the "face" pics here?

That may not be a bad idea. I'll probably sticky it this week and try to post head shots that I have already.
