: Upping the ante on bass rig.
: spideyjg April 05, 2016, 09:17:28 p
My 10ft rod is a steelhead rod that cast 2oz which is great for perch/croaker sized rigs but last outing It got outmatched trying to go as a bass rig.

Upgraded to a Lamiglas X11 9 footer that cast 1-4 oz and paired with a Saltist 20 with 40lb braid and 30lb flouro top shot.

Testing it out tonight where I broke off last outing.

That would be a killer combo for shore surf bassin, and could definitely handle a smaller 7!

Sounds like overkill for bass

Guess your soaking bait for them, not throwing swimbaits....

Exactly. The shark rig is overkill, my light set can't cast enough weight and would have no chance on a larger beast as evidenced last trip when I got broken off.
