Well, I got a call from Dave who was fishing MB this morning and got something I've been trying to catch for years... Raja binoculata or a Big Skate. He was casting out a gooped up swimbait and it hit it on the bottom. It was 15-20 pounds and he got it on 10lb test!
Unfortunately, Dave doesn't own a camera or even a cell phone so there is no pics, but Dave insists they used to catch a lot of skates back in the day. The good news is they are in MB and I'd love to get one scratched off my list!
Dave has cred with me. Must have left the black cloud at home.
I'm more surprised for he has lack of modern tech!!!
