Gas don't get them, bait don't get them, traps might get a few. The backyard has a combo of gopher mounds and holes dug for traps and gassing.

Can I plug them with a pellet gun? Just watched one digging out a tunnel and he was too quick for the shovel tip.

Have you tried flushing it out with the garden hose?

Maybe some poisonous pellets covered in peanut butter??  Just make sure the dogs or cats don't eat it...
