Since shore fishing has been on the slow side, I think I'm going to have the "Coolest Catch" for the last two weeks of October for one of the rod-n-reel set ups that Eric H is donating.

The Rules will be simple... 

• Post up a fish report in the appropriate forum.
• I will select some of the better pics or fish for a vote on November 1st.
• I will shuffle the top five (5) pictures as reports come in to get the crème of the crop photos out there for you to judge.
• Winner by vote will get his pic of rod/reel that Eric H is kind enough to offer up.  (I'll let him chime in here what make/model/line test they are.)

The winner gets his pick of 1 of 2 rod/reel combos offered by EricH or a choice of one of the 3D printed measuring devices made by xjchad!

Super easy, so get out there and post up some reports!  I'll even accept white croaker if that is what you are catching right now!   :o

The prize  up for grabs is an Abu Garcia cardinal max7 ( about a 7000 sized spinner) paired with either a 8 ft Master 8-20lb, 1-3oz rod or a 7ft mh daiwa  beefstick 1-3oz. I couldn't quite make out the line rating but it's a 20lb stick.

I was mistaken, I was given 2 rods and 1 reel. For some reason I thought I had another reel.

The stuff is deffinately used but very fishable.

I'm making a beach bait and bay run tonight and Saturday so hopefully something with gills and not just leaves.

Those measuring tapes are sweet chad! Are they metal or plastic?
I dont think any of us deserve a prize this month.. Lol

I haven't caught a tractor so that poic isn't mine. My only significant catch was a leopard.

Chad may have to make a bucnh of those measuring widgets. I want one also.

Yep, that SNGF was mine. (Smaller than Paddy's though so not contest worthy)

Jim, when the contests are over and they are all gone, I'll probably make more to sell cheap.

The horn shark is gona be tuff to beat.

I want a tape measure thingy too, my tape is just crumpled into a ball and shoved in the back pack.

Personally I won't vote for anything thats not caught from the sand, and in cali.. I figure thats what this sight is all about

Jus sayin... not everything caught from the sand is better than a boat caught fish...

Nickys got it locked up unless someone gets a seriously huge grinner, and even that isn't as tough to get as a wahoo from North of the border (ask Tom) B)

Hey, I don't want anyone to get riled up here.  This contest is for the coolest fish or whatever you vote on.  It can be from boat, rocks or beach.  I'm having a contest for November which will be a shore based catch... maybe even based on length, but I'm not sure yet.  I'll tally things up on Sunday for the October "Coolest Catch" Contest for a vote for the winner.

Like I said, the November contest will be a shore based contest as hopefully that is when the fishing heats up since it is already a few months behind schedule this year.  ;D
