Gona keep it short since I'm typing on my work phone.

I arrived at one of the spots armed with fresh maks.

Had a nice big moon phase and had a big tide swing that topped out at a 6.0. Kelp was minimal and had a small 1ft break.

First bait hit the water just before sunset.

I was feeling really confident but that slowly went away as time went on.

Not a single bite.

Kept applying a new bait now and then and still nothing.

Fished till 10 and called it the night.

It felt really good to have the long rods back out. I'll be fishing them regularly again going forward :)

I feel you Eric!  I was feeling super confident the first few hours, then slowly started to wonder if anything big was going to take my bait!  lol

That water is warm down here!

Super warm up here too. Waded out almost chest high to cast in just board shorts throughout the night. Waders would have been overkill

Glad you finally made it back to the sand.  Sorry for the skunk, but still wish I could've joined you.
Next time!

Getting the stripe when conditions are perfect is harder to take than when it is just barely fishable.

Been there many a time.

At least you got out. It's always better than not trying.
