Heard some news going around lately that it is going to be raining Mon thru Wed. So pushed myself even more to hit it hard this weekend.
Was happy to arrive to the beach with finally some calm conditions. Started at first light and there was no wind, a little salad, and low waves. Good start to the morning.
Armed with the LC. Sexy Smelt 115 MR Ayame and 15# Izorline XXX. I went to casting. A little of a stronge surge but easily fishable. Took about 20 minutes in and I get my first strike of the morning.
Felt a nice wack on the end of the line and first fish to hit was an 18 Inch Sandbass Grump. Nice fight and nice drag peeling runs. I did have my drag set just a little to loose today. Quickly changed that though as the morning went on.

Kept the Sandie for some Ceviche this afternoon.
Re-tie go back out, I cast out and as soon as the lure hits the water. WHAM! Fish on and I got this nice legal Calico.
Decent fight as well.

Let the checkers back in the drink and went back to casting. Took me about another 10 minutes and I cast directly to my left. Get picked with a nice 17 inch Halibut, Quick release. Cast out again, into the picking up surge as the tide was filling in.
Then my lure hits a nice thump and it was a great battle the whole way in. Seemed like forever and she was making some serious runs. Ended the day with a 21.5 Halibut. As I was bringing her in about 9 inches of water she tail flips and heads west. I kept the line tight but she kinda fooled me. Shot between my legs, lifted said leg fast and kept the line tight all in one move. Glad it stuck this time.
